Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated healthcare planner to join our integrated team of design professionals. The selected candidate will combine creativity and technical knowledge to design and lead teams in the creation of innovative healthcare spaces that focus on optimized operations and user experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead in the conceptual design of complex healthcare projects, establishing planning principles and translating client operational models into architectural design/medical plans.
  • Facilitate clinical user group meetings, generate solutions in real-time, and lead team members in creating and coordinating architectural documentation that supports planning concepts.
  • Review planning and design through the production and implementation documentation process to ensure continuity of the design intent, applying governing regulatory codes and hospital licensing standards.
  • Coordinate or prepare drawings and designs in accordance with NK standards, best practice, and quality expectations, and participate in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues, and coordination with other disciplines.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of related experience as a Medical Planner, with a Bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field from an accredited school.
  • Licensed or working towards licensure, with advanced knowledge of current healthcare planning and programming concepts, including patient safety, evidence-based design principles, and general industry benchmarks.
  • Ability to lead clinical user meetings for needs assessment, prepare functional and space programs, and manage user expectations and think of real-time solutions that reinforce user needs.
  • Understanding of multiple service line operations and how the plan impacts use of space, with experience working with medical equipment planners and developing thought leadership publications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACHA Certification, CHID certification, LEAN, EDAC certification, LEED AP, or WELL certified.
  • Knowledge of Newforma, Deltek Vision, or Vantagepoint, with familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Healthcare portfolio that includes concept-level and master plans.
