Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our team as a critical care nurse practitioner. You will provide direct patient care as a Center's Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Attending to provide 24/7/365 medical and surgical management for critical-care service.
  • Manage the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically critically ill or injured adult patients in collaboration with the intensivist physician on duty (or on-call).
  • Perform advanced skills of comprehensive airway management, invasive procedures, and selection, implementation, management, and titration of vasoactive drugs, insulin infusions, sedation, and analgesia.
Qualifications
  • Completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program approved by the ANCC or AANP.
  • Must hold current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware, national board certification as an ANCP (ANCC or AANP), a Certificate of Authority by the Delaware Board of Nursing as a certified Nurse Practitioner Board of Nursing.
  • Valid prescriptive authority as issued by the Delaware Board of Nursing or State Medical Board of Delaware.
  • Must have DEA license or be eligible to apply for DEA number and license.
  • Must have a valid BLS and ACLS card upon hire.
  • Certification for FCSS and formal airway course required within 1yr of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in hospital medicine/surgery, required.
Competencies and Skills
  • Experience in hospital or acute care setting.
  • Clear communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs.
  • Able to keep confidential information regarding patients, team members.
  • Able to withstand crisis situations.
  • Has skills to provide customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic health records.
