Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at AltaPointe Health. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in psychiatric-mental health nursing and be certified as a PMHNP-BC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and treatment plans for consumers.
  • Manage medication regimens and collaborate with physicians as needed.
  • Utilize assessment data to support DSM-5 diagnoses and develop effective treatment strategies.
  • Effectively de-escalate crisis situations and refer consumers for hospitalization when necessary.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams and outside sources to deliver high-quality clinical services.
  • Evaluate and address side effects of medication, particularly tardive dyskinesia.
  • Practice according to the Certified Nurse Practitioner Protocol and AltaPointe policy and procedures.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a current Alabama license to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and hold a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification (PMHNP-BC). One year of PMHNP experience is preferred.
