Clinical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- Assist in diagnosing and managing patients under the supervision of a physician, presenting patient data and recommending diagnostic and therapeutic regimens.
- Organize and present patient data to supervising physicians, including recommendations for appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens.
- Provide instructions and guidance on healthcare and medical therapy to patients, family members, and significant others.
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and assessments, recording pertinent data in the electronic health record.
- Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and institute appropriate therapies or referrals to other healthcare facilities, agencies, or resources.
- Plan and initiate therapeutic regimens, including ordering drugs, medical devices, and nutrition and supportive services.
- Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient management and treatment.
- Administer injections and dispense medications, troubleshoot issues with the electronic health record system, and create and edit documents within the system.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution, completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program, certification as a nurse practitioner, and licensure with the state of Alabama as a nurse practitioner and registered nurse.
- OR Completion of an accredited physician assistant training program as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and licensure with the state of Alabama to practice as a Physician Assistant within two months of employment.
