About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at St. David's South Austin Medical Center.

As a PACU Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, ensuring a smooth transition from the operating room to the recovery room, and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients upon arrival in the PACU, identifying potential complications and developing individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patients for adverse reactions and adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting a positive and empowering experience.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Previous acute care experience – preferred
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
