About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optician to join our team at Children's Mercy KC. As an Optician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fit, adapt, and repair eyewear for patients, ensuring accurate prescriptions and optimal comfort.
  • Order and sell additional products, manage daily sales, and maintain inventory levels.
  • Follow all relevant laws and regulations regarding dispensing eyewear.
  • Verify prescriptions using a lensometer and repair damaged products as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical hygiene and perform all duties with accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.
  • Act as a preceptor for new employees, assisting with orientation and competency completion.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or
  • High School diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
