Position Overview

MomsRising is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced bilingual contractor to enhance our member engagement initiatives within the Pennsylvania region. This role is pivotal in connecting with Latina mothers and their families, encouraging grassroots involvement to further our mission of fostering a family-oriented society where all can flourish.

About MomsRising:

MomsRising Together operates as a virtual organization, supported by a dedicated team across the nation. Our affiliated entity, MomsRising Education Fund, functions as a public charity. We pride ourselves on a collaborative environment where our staff and volunteers work together to strategize and implement impactful campaigns. Our virtual setup allows for flexible communication through various digital platforms, ensuring a supportive and results-driven workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a representative for MamasConPoder / MomsRising within the community, attending relevant events and meetings as necessary.
  • Expand the visibility and outreach of MamasConPoder/MomsRising by identifying potential collaborators, new members, and engagement opportunities.
  • Organize and lead two community events each month, focusing on themes relevant to our mission, ensuring participation from at least ten families in a welcoming and enjoyable environment.
  • Seek out and nurture new members and storytellers, inviting them to participate in both local events and broader organizational actions, with a target of establishing at least 100 new contacts.
  • Identify and engage with new partners and community spaces, compiling a list of at least 25 new contacts for outreach.

Qualifications:

  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in community organizing.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations, demonstrating a commitment to addressing systemic inequalities.
  • Strong skills in training and facilitation.
  • Capable of collaborating within teams and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Self-motivated and independent, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic outlook.
  • Flexible and committed to achieving campaign success.
  • Experience in planning and executing both in-person and online initiatives.
  • Interest in the issues championed by MomsRising.
  • Knowledge of contemporary grassroots engagement strategies.
  • Familiarity with public voter files is a plus.
  • Experience with digital engagement tools is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Availability to work outside of standard office hours.
  • Experience with social media platforms and blogging is beneficial.
  • Background in political campaigning is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work at a desk for extended periods and communicate effectively. Regular use of hands for typing and handling objects is required. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

Compensation:

Compensation is set at $25 per hour for 10-15 hours of work per week.
