About MomsRising:

MomsRising Together operates as a virtual organization, supported by a collaborative team of staff and volunteers nationwide. Our affiliated organization, MomsRising Education Fund, functions as a public charity. We prioritize a results-driven work culture that respects the balance between professional responsibilities and personal commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a representative for MamasConPoder / MomsRising within the community, participating in various events and meetings as necessary.
  • Expand the visibility and influence of MamasConPoder/MomsRising by identifying potential partners and engaging new members.
  • Organize and lead two community events each month, focusing on themes relevant to MomsRising's mission, ensuring participation from at least ten families in a welcoming and enjoyable environment.
  • Cultivate relationships with new members and storytellers, inviting them to participate in events and broader initiatives, with a target of identifying at least 100 new contacts.
  • Build a network of local and online partners, compiling a list of at least 25 new contacts for future collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in community organizing.
  • Proven ability to engage with diverse populations and a strong commitment to social justice.
  • Excellent training and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized with effective time-management abilities.
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, capable of managing projects independently while paying attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable to ensure the success of campaigns.
  • Experience in organizing both in-person and online initiatives from conception to execution.
  • Interest in the issues addressed by MomsRising.
  • Knowledge of grassroots engagement strategies and tools.
  • Familiarity with public voter files is a plus.
  • Experience with technology-based engagement platforms is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Availability to work outside of standard office hours.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and blogging is advantageous.
  • Political campaign experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform desk work for extended periods and communicate effectively. Regular use of hands for typing and reaching is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Compensation:

Compensation is set at $25 per hour for 10-15 hours of work per week.
