Position Purpose:

This is a temporary, seasonal work experience opportunity for youth during the summer months. As an Environmental Assistant, you will provide support to the Environmental Department staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with pond maintenance at the fish hatchery and other related tasks.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and operate equipment as needed.
  • Be a self-starter, motivated to complete assigned tasks independently under the guidance of your supervisor.
  • Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and file management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. College coursework with a focus on science is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn and adapt to new information.
  • Possess self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Certifications:
