**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Design and develop new tools and tooling aids to support production operations, ensuring high-quality and efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Create designs and drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet production requirements.
  • Analyze tooling performance and adjust designs accordingly to improve performance, identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Design tooling for CNC machining, turning, and additive manufacturing methods, ensuring compliance with technical manufacturing specifications.
  • Review technical manufacturing specifications to determine tooling requirements, working closely with production teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of tooling aids.
  • Design for ergonomics when appropriate, prioritizing employee safety and well-being in the design process.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop design solutions for production support, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate tooling/gauge/aid performance to determine for-use worthiness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot process issues, working closely with production teams to resolve problems and ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
  • Provide technical support to operations, serving as a subject matter expert on tooling design and manufacturing processes.
  • Consult with outside engineering entities when required to resolve issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution of complex problems.
  • Coordinate multiple design projects, prioritizing tasks and managing resources to meet production deadlines.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal and external vendors during tooling fabrication, ensuring high-quality and efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze process data in support of continuous improvement, identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
