Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Interior Cockpit Engineer to join our team at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) in Superior Township, MI. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing Interior Cockpit parts, as well as performing releasing duties for North American-based vehicle projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Interior Cockpit components, including instrument panels and center consoles
  • Develop innovative solutions to improve cost, mass, performance, and quality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop engineering concepts and see parts through to mass production
  • Communicate project status and results through technical reports and presentations
  • Assess current designs and competitor benchmarking to recommend engineering improvements
  • Mentor and develop fellow engineers within the group
  • Lead Advanced Development projects related to part- or system-level improvements for future vehicles

Requirements
  • 5+ years of working knowledge of Interior Cockpit Components
  • Experience in cradle to grave product development best practices and processes
  • Knowledge of US regulations
  • Knowledge of design, manufacturing, and assembly of Interior Cockpit components
  • Experience utilizing Computer-Aided Design tools (CATIA V5 ideal, but not required)
  • Travel up to 15% of the time domestically and internationally
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience required
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
