Job Summary

The Performance Coach is a key member of our team, responsible for promoting the features of our Performance brand through training, communication, and customer service. This includes safety, intensity, variation, individualized, sport and team-specific programming, and assessment-based training programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for athletes and fitness enthusiasts of all ages and levels.
  • Implement new training methods, programs, and protocols to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Design and execute camps, clinics, and off-site training sessions to engage with clients and promote our services.
  • Conduct performance assessments and evaluations to provide valuable insights to clients.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of adult fitness and boot camp programs to cater to diverse client needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop sports and individual-specific performance programs that meet client goals.
  • Track workouts and client interactions in our Mind Body Online program to ensure seamless communication.
  • Participate in community events to promote the field of performance training and foster goodwill towards our community.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with administration, marketing, physical therapy, and other coaches to ensure a cohesive team effort.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring timely follow-up and addressing their needs promptly.
  • Inform directors of scheduling needs and commit to professional reliability to maintain a high level of service.
  • Create a professional, safe, and fun environment that encourages client engagement and satisfaction.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility and equipment to ensure a positive client experience.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to prospects to nurture leads and build relationships.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related field (health promotion, kinesiology, and sports medicine) is preferred.
  • NCCA accredited personal training or strength and conditioning certification is preferred, with options including NSCA CSCS, ACSM CPT or HFS, NASM CPT, and ACE CPT.
  • Knowledge of sports performance training, speed development, movement mechanics, assessment, evaluation, and injury prevention is essential.
  • Commitment to continued education and furthering experiences and abilities in the sports performance field is required.
  • Training philosophy that emphasizes functional, scientific, and movement-based training is necessary.
  • Ability to integrate sports medicine, clinical knowledge, assessment, and/or clinical recommendations into performance training is essential.
  • Must be a self-motivator with a high sense of integrity, good business acumen, and the ability to interact with coworkers, clients, and professionals.
  • Must be inspiring, creative, and a team player with the ability to integrate and maintain an athletic mentality and environment.
  • Ability to relate positively with customers and employees to develop positive relationships is necessary.
  • Ability to effectively and concisely communicate thoughts and information verbally and in writing is essential.
  • Ability to complete goals and activities with established or tight time frames is required.
  • Demonstrate a fit image that represents a commitment to a physically active and healthy lifestyle.
  • Possess a background in fitness, strength and conditioning training, and/or coaching.
  • Experience working with athletes and/or fitness clients is necessary.
  • High level of competitive athletic experience is preferred.
Physical Demands
  1. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  2. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  3. Ability to grasp and hold up to 50 lbs.
  4. Ability to hear and understand normal voice level communications in person or through the telephone.
  5. Ability to speak clearly and understandably.
  6. Basic vision corrected.
