Diesel Mechanic Technician II

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician II to join our dedicated maintenance team at Hotard Shuttle in Port Arthur, Texas. As a Diesel Mechanic Technician II, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of motorcoaches, school buses, shuttles, transits, sprinters, and automobiles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, automotive gas engines, powertrains, HVAC, electrical, steering, cooling, and brake systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs in a safe and efficient work environment.
- Conduct Department of Transportation (DOT) and BIT inspections, ensuring compliance with DVIR and CHP safety standards.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work and vehicle inspections.
- Work collaboratively with the team to quickly resolve mechanical issues.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working on diesel trucks, buses, or other commercial vehicles.
- Must provide your own tools and toolbox.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of heavy-duty diesel engines and gas automotive engines.
- A technical degree in diesel or industrial technology is preferred.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
