Job Summary

The Electrical Systems Specialist at TPC Group is responsible for the repair, design, maintenance, implementation, and improvement of reliability on industrial electrical equipment and fixtures. This role works closely with other Electrical Technicians and Engineers to enhance the reliability of electrical systems, promote teamwork, and ensure a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair, design, maintain, implement, and improve reliability on industrial electrical equipment and fixtures
  • Collaborate with other Electrical Technicians and Engineers to enhance the reliability of electrical systems, promote teamwork, and ensure a safe work environment
  • Prepare electrical materials, components, and assemblies for evaluation and interpret engineering change orders, blueprints, diagrams, sketches, photographs, and other documentation as they relate to assigned duties
  • Construct and install conduit and cable systems
  • Lay out and construct basic/complex electrical circuits, fixtures, and assemblies based on drawings and verbal instructions
  • Perform basic and complex troubleshooting tasks for electrical equipment and fixtures
  • Responsible for callouts and overtime
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
  • Maintain required documentation for equipment repair, preventive maintenance, and mechanical integrity tasks
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance, and document and report deficiencies to supervisor
  • Perform LOTO according to procedure
  • Ability to mentor and develop less skilled/experienced technicians
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Possession of a State of Texas Journeyman Electrical license
  • Possession of a Certificate in Electrical Technology or equivalent certificate
  • 5 years craft experience in the Petrochemical industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of an associate degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent preferred
  • Vast knowledge of National Electric Code
  • Demonstrates all performance/behaviors listed below in addition to the following; exceptional technical and/or analytical skills and performs unique tasks beyond that expected
  • Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Troubleshooting and electrical equipment repair skills
