Job Description

Role:

As a Senior Education Leader, you will play a key role in improving the skill, knowledge, and performance of the teaching workforce in a school or group of schools. You will be responsible for leading and managing a significant area or function within the school, with a high degree of independence, to ensure the effective development, provision, and evaluation of the school's education program.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and coordinate the development of Student Wellbeing policies and programs in line with DET initiatives.
  2. Coordinate and manage all PSDMS applications.
  3. Monitor engagement, attendance, and wellbeing data, incorporating appropriate targets and interventions in alignment with the school's Strategic and Annual Implementation Plan.
  4. Collaborate with Senior and Middle Schools to ensure proactivity and consistency across school student wellbeing and engagement processes.
  5. Manage the coordination of the Inclusive Education program, working with teachers and the integration team.
  6. Develop and support the Student Wellbeing team.
  7. Co-manage referrals to DET Student Support Services and external agencies when required.
  8. Lead and manage Parent/Student meetings with the Principal class team.
  9. Assist with the management of High Needs/and at Risk students.
  10. Provide short-term therapeutic support to individual students.
  11. Manage and support applications to alternative settings.
  12. Coordinate Professional Development for staff in the areas relevant to student wellbeing and engagement.
  13. Seek out new initiatives or community/agency partnerships that would benefit the learning and wellbeing needs of students.
  14. Co-lead and manage whole school wellbeing intervention and prevention programs.
  15. Provide leadership and direction in matters involving student wellbeing and DET Emergency Management.

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
