As an AI Research Engineer at TechStar Group, you will leverage your knowledge in various AI domains:
- Extraction of critical context from datasets

Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with professionals across AI, computer science, robotics, social sciences, and business sectors to create innovative AI and data analytics solutions for real-world vehicle prototypes.
Your initial challenge will involve designing the AI framework for a functional vehicle media platform prototype, incorporating user-activity and/or emotional modeling to enhance user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement prototype solutions that embed AI functionalities into the next generation of the vehicle, cloud, and connected device ecosystem.
- Create principled models and methodologies.
- Effectively communicate progress through presentations and reports, showcasing potential for business transformation.
- Contribute to patent filings and research publications.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience in AI development and deployment.
- Strong foundation in software engineering and data management best practices.
- A genuine passion for research and development at the forefront of technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with AI frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience in architecting AI solutions for user-activity recognition and/or emotional modeling.
- Documented contributions to open-source software with high standards of code quality.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
Additional Information:
A Master’s degree and 2+ years of experience are essential for this role. Prototyping will be a significant aspect of your work, focusing on algorithms and user experiences. You will be tasked with developing new vehicle experiences using data from the vehicle and sensors monitoring the cabin environment.
Your role will involve applying AI to data and developing algorithms that facilitate decision-making processes. Generative AI will play a crucial role in enhancing client experiences.
Team members will begin working on the architecture, providing mentorship throughout the process. The ideal candidate will be proactive, ready to deliver practical results, and capable of demonstrating that algorithms operate effectively within the vehicle.
We seek individuals who can generate innovative ideas for data utilization and prototyping, which will be your primary objective.
Proficiency in Python is preferred, although candidates with strong skills in other programming languages may adapt quickly. A background limited to C and Matlab may raise concerns regarding adaptability.
