Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Glazing Estimator to become part of our vibrant team. This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in commercial glazing and a solid grasp of architectural and structural drawings. The successful candidate will possess significant expertise in glass curtain wall installations, as well as bullet-resistant, blast, and storm impact glazing. A thorough understanding of building codes, blueprint interpretation, and project management is essential. Familiarity with CRM systems, Dodge, ISqFt, and Microsoft Office is also required. This position demands proficiency in managing materials, project bidding, and cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Glazing Estimator, your duties will include:
1. Preparing detailed estimates for glazing projects, focusing on curtain wall installations.
2. Analyzing architectural and structural drawings to determine project specifications.
3. Ensuring compliance with applicable building codes.
4. Overseeing the installation of bullet-resistant, blast, and storm impact glazing.
5. Utilizing CRM, Dodge, and ISqFt for project data management and communication.
6. Conducting cost analysis and project estimation to guarantee profitability.
7. Managing materials and the bidding process for projects.
8. Collaborating with project management teams to ensure timely and budget-conscious project delivery.
9. Assisting in the pre-construction phase, including planning and design considerations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
1. An Associate's Degree in a relevant discipline.
2. At least 5 years of experience in glazing estimation, preferably within the manufacturing field.
3. Proven expertise in glass curtain wall installations and commercial glazing.
4. Strong skills in interpreting architectural and structural drawings.
5. Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations.
6. Experience with bullet-resistant, blast, and storm impact glazing.
7. Familiarity with CRM systems, Dodge, and ISqFt.
8. Excellent project management abilities, including estimation, cost analysis, and materials oversight.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
10. Experience with construction drawings and estimating processes.
11. Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
