As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical laboratory, collecting and processing blood samples, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and capillary techniques, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Process and transport blood samples to the laboratory for testing, maintaining proper handling and storage procedures.
- Perform waived tests, Automated CBCs, EKGs, and Spirometry, as required, adhering to established protocols and quality control measures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, test results, and laboratory activities.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, and other laboratory staff to ensure seamless patient care and efficient laboratory operations.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and technological advancements, applying this knowledge to enhance laboratory operations and patient care.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited phlebotomy training program preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in a hospital or clinic setting, with a focus on phlebotomy and laboratory operations.
- CPR/BLS certification required; bilingual skills in English/Spanish highly desirable.
- Competitive hourly rate of $20.02.
