Key Responsibilities

The Medical Imaging Specialist will:

  • Conduct all diagnostic and screening imaging procedures, including emergency, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable imaging.
  • Assist physicians and radiologists during procedures that require sterile techniques.
  • Prepare and administer radiopaque contrast media necessary for imaging exams.
  • Evaluate patient conditions before and during imaging procedures.
  • Perform additional departmental duties as required.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduation from a radiology program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or an equivalent military training program.
  • Associate Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology.

Experience:

  • Preferred: At least one year of experience as a Medical Imaging Specialist.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Licensed Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with the Texas Medical Board.
  • Registered technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, primary certification in Radiography - ARRT (R). If hired prior to specific criteria, only MRT or CMRT license may be required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
