Position Overview

The Sanitation Site Manager oversees the daily sanitation operations, budget management, and team leadership for a facility operating around the clock. This role entails executing various responsibilities before, during, and after sanitation shifts. The Site Manager ensures that the sanitation crew and the facility are adequately prepared, monitors safety and efficiency, and collaborates with inspectors at the end of each shift. This position requires vigilant oversight of the facility's budget to avoid overspending while maintaining compliance with Food Safety and Safety KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with maintenance staff before shifts to prepare the facility for sanitation. Conduct safety training for new supervisors.
  • Issue personal protective equipment (PPE) to team members as needed.
  • Ensure all sanitation personnel and supervisors are properly staffed, trained, and equipped to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Communicate any specific sanitation requirements to relevant team members prior to the start of the shift.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are clearly communicated and understood by the sanitation team.
  • Conduct inspections of the equipment cleaned and sanitized by the team, both during and after the sanitation process.
  • Verify and approve the attendance and departure times of all crew members.
  • Accompany quality assurance and regulatory inspectors during pre-operational inspections.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with management regarding sanitation operations.
  • Optimize staffing levels to ensure an efficient sanitation process and adjust as necessary for short crews.
  • Complete necessary reporting and maintain effective communication with client personnel.
  • Monitor employee attendance and timekeeping records.
  • Keep detailed records of sanitation processes, training, and deficiencies.
  • Implement the company's disciplinary policies when required.
  • Administer Lock Out Tag Out procedures to secure equipment during sanitation.
  • May operate specialized equipment such as forklifts or scissor lifts after receiving appropriate training.
  • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, clients, and regulatory officials.
  • Be flexible to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Adapt to various environmental conditions present in food processing facilities.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, representing the company positively to customers and employees.
  • Work collaboratively with all organizational levels, from management to entry-level staff.
  • Demonstrate reliability, competence, and a commitment to completing assigned tasks.

Qualifications

Required: Comprehensive knowledge of sanitary restoration processes, industrial safety practices (including Lock Out/Tag Out and HAZCOMM), and familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.
