Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team as a Clinical Research Nurse Practitioner. The successful candidate will work closely with our Principal Investigator and Director of Clinical Research Operations to conduct clinical research studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and Director of Clinical Research Operations to design and implement clinical research studies
  • Conduct physical examinations, review source documents, and complete case report forms
  • Assure compliance with protocol requirements, sponsor regulations, and institutional review board (IRB) guidelines
  • Work with sponsors to clarify trial activities and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Provide direct FNP care to research study patients, including medical tests, medication administration, and patient education
  • Be on call as needed for clinical research subjects in coordination with the Principal Investigator
Requirements
  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the state of California
  • Experience in clinical research settings, preferably in diabetes education and management
  • Basic knowledge of accepted clinical research practices, including universal precautions, human subjects research protocols, and HIPAA requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions

The work environment is generally an office setting with clinical facilities adjacent to the primary work area and laboratory facilities on a different floor. The ability to move within all three areas may be required in the execution of the employee's functional activities. This position is associated with exposure to biohazardous materials and communicable disease requiring the use of universal precautions at all times as well as other conditions common to a medical clinic and research facility.
