Permit Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permit Technician to join our team at SAFEbuilt. As a Permit Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery of privatized community development solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interface with customers to service their building department-related needs.
  • Issue and/or track permits through the permitting process, including application acceptance, plan review, inspections, and permit closure.
  • Establish and maintain systems to ensure that all files, letters, reference manuals, field inspection reports, permit files, blueprints, drawings, and other data or material is maintained in an organized fashion.
  • Collaborate with plans examiners and inspectors to develop and ensure consistent processes.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of customer service and/or administrative experience required.
  • Building and/or construction knowledge or background preferred.
  • Permitting experience preferred.
  • Municipal experience preferred.
  • ICC Permit Technician Certification a plus.
