Flow Cytometry Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Flow Cytometry Specialist in the Division of Experimental Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.
Key Responsibilities- Support the lab with day-to-day sample processing, including human blood and tissue samples.
- Operate flow cytometers and cell sorters for Core projects and investigators requiring assistance.
- Perform general maintenance, QC/QA following documented SOPs, and develop new SOPs and protocols as needed.
- Provide technical advice to users on experimental methods related to flow cytometry.
- Assist with the management of data and equipment, new cytometry panel development projects, and data analysis using flow cytometry analysis software.
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices for flow cytometry and provide training for the use of flow cytometers, sorters, and related software.
- Mentor and train junior staff members in the core and serve on Division committees.
- Applicants appointed at the Junior rank must possess a baccalaureate degree or at least four years of research experience.
- Applicants appointed at the Assistant rank must possess a master's degree or a baccalaureate degree with 3 or more years of research experience.
- Applicants appointed at the Associate rank must possess a master's degree or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization.
- Applicants appointed at the Full rank must possess a terminal degree or ten or more years of experience in the relevant specialization.
- Knowledge and research experience in cellular immunology and/or molecular biology.
- Bioinformatics knowledge and experience with high-dimensional data processing and analysis.
- Basic genomic assay and sequencing data analysis experience.
- Experience in single cell RNA seq with 10X platform.
- Assisting billing and financial tasks using iLab platform.
- Assisting manuscripts and reports.
- Assisting grant applications.
The University of California, San Francisco offers a competitive salary range of $51,300-$181,800 and a comprehensive benefits package.
