Job Summary:

The Referral Coordinator plays a vital role in facilitating the process of specialty consults, follow-up care, and prior authorization at Chase Brexton Health Care. This position works closely with the care team to ensure timely and accurate referrals, making a significant impact on patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify patient insurance prior to completing referrals.
  • Process urgent referrals within 24 hours and non-urgent referrals within 5 business days.
  • Assist with scheduling urgent referral appointments and ensure timely follow-up communication.
  • Document referrals and prior authorizations in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Collaborate with the care team to resolve issues and ensure smooth referral processes.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of HIPAA and PHI regulations.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems, such as CPS12.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
