As a part of Off Leash K9 Training, LLC, the leading dog training organization in the nation, we are seeking dedicated trainers in the Spokane / CDA area. This position is both challenging and fulfilling, requiring a driven individual who can foster professional relationships and achieve success in the field.
Key Qualifications:
- Must reside in the Spokane / CDA vicinity.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Capacity to accommodate 1-2 dogs at your home for training periods of up to 14 days.
- Experience in teaching private lesson packages is beneficial but not mandatory. Lessons can be conducted in clients' homes or local parks, adhering to travel restrictions.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are essential.
- A smartphone is required for communication and training purposes.
- Basic knowledge of social media platforms is necessary, as we provide training in video and photo content creation.
- Completion of a 21-day New Trainer Certification process is mandatory, with training available in various locations.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Handling, training, and caring for dogs of all sizes and ages.
- Working with dogs requiring behavior modification, from anxiety to aggression (limited for new trainers).
- Maintaining daily communication with dog owners regarding training progress.
- Interacting with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Driving within the Spokane / CDA area as part of job duties.
- Cleaning and maintaining training equipment to ensure a safe environment.
- Engaging in ongoing education to enhance training skills for both dogs and their owners.
- Participating in local public relations events.
- Collaborating with fellow trainers and assisting when necessary.
- Demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
The Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, reliability, honesty, and, most importantly, a genuine passion for dogs. Basic computer skills and the ability to create engaging dog training videos are essential. Flexibility to work during peak hours on weekdays and weekends is required. Strong customer service and communication skills are critical for success in this role.
After completing the initial training and certification, you will have opportunities to work alongside experienced trainers to further develop your skills, while also enjoying the autonomy to work independently as you grow in expertise.
Compensation for this role can range from $35,000 to $70,000 annually, with potential for higher earnings, all while engaging in a career you love.
