Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Women's Health Arizona. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Assist OBGYN physicians and other healthcare providers in delivering comprehensive care to patients. Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, and assist with medical history documentation. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including pelvic exams, pap smears, and ultrasounds. Provide patient education on women's health topics, including contraception, prenatal care, and menopause management.
  • Administrative Duties: Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic's appointment calendar efficiently. Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure accurate documentation of patient information, including medical history, medications, and allergies. Handle patient inquiries, phone calls, and messages promptly and professionally.
  • Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and surgeries as required. Sterilize and prepare medical instruments and equipment for procedures and ensure compliance with infection control protocols. Stock exam rooms with necessary supplies and ensure equipment is in proper working order.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery and clinic operations.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Follow clinic policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, and OSHA guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a women's health or OBGYN setting is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, EMR systems, and basic clinical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
