Key Responsibilities- Optimize clinic workflow by escorting patients to exam rooms, conducting patient history interviews, taking and recording vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Provide patient information and instructions, and exit clinical information to patients on behalf of the healthcare provider.
- Organize and maintain clinic exam rooms and workspace, including restocking supplies and maintaining inventory.
- Perform basic in-house laboratory tests, including finger stick glucose or hemoglobin, dip stick urinalysis, rapid test for strep infections, and electrocardiograms.
- Administer medication and treatment (excluding injections) to patients as directed by the healthcare provider.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant Certification from an approved Medical Assistant training program.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in-person and telephonically.
- Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
