Job Title: Component Engineer Level 3

PSCI is seeking a highly skilled Component Engineer to ensure the quality of components on complex weapon systems that support national defense.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in support of the LTIAMD and PAC-3 programs, focusing on electrical component specifications, military standards, and performance specifications for Electrical, Electronic, and Electro-Mechanical (EEE) components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate design assurance activities and implement production process methodologies to prevent impacts on production velocity and quality.
  • Ensure the quality of products transitioning from development to production.
  • Apply manufacturing quality requirements to transition product development plans and solutions to obstacles that may impact successful transition at the component, sub-assembly, and final assembly levels.
Requirements:
  • BS degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience/combined education in this field.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in electrical component failure analysis.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Planning.
  • Experience in microelectronics fabrication and test or equivalent experience.
  • Able to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods to turn materials into products.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and related performance metrics.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration.
  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications, including Access.
  • Effective communication skills - written, oral, listening, presentation, and technical writing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Military Standards 202, 883, and 750.
  • Familiarity with MIL-PRF 38534, 38535, 19500, and 55342.
  • Familiarity with components such as ICs, Discrete Semiconductors, Resistors, Capacitors, Inductors, PWB, and PWB Assembly Processing.
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), and/or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA).
  • SAP Application Experience: QNOTES, etc.
  • Advanced AS9100 Interpretation/application skills.
  • Experience with Product Development Process (PDP) Material Review Board (MRB) experience Machine shop or electronics manufacturing inspection experience.
  • Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) experience.
