We are seeking a qualified Medical Assisting Instructor to join our faculty team at El Paso Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction in medical assisting courses, adhering to the college's philosophy and objectives, and promoting student success.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of students with varying educational backgrounds and learning styles.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure students meet course objectives.
- Stay current with industry developments and best practices in medical assisting education.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with college and industry standards.
- Participate in faculty orientation, professional development, and other activities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with college policies and procedures.
- Associate's degree in Medical Assisting or Nursing.
- Three years of work-related experience exclusive of teaching.
- One or more of the following certifications: CMA, RN, LVN, or MD.
- Experience teaching in the discipline and incorporating technology into the classroom.
- Ability to teach at the community college level.
This is a part-time faculty position, and faculty are hired on a semester-by-semester basis. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check and provide documentation verifying employment authorization eligibility and identity.
