Position Overview

The role entails the safe and efficient execution of diverse responsibilities in plant upkeep, production processes, and machinery operation. The individual in this position will be tasked with lubricating and servicing plant machinery, ensuring cleanliness within the facility, operating various equipment, and conducting routine maintenance on both the plant and its machinery.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday: 7AM-5PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts preventative and routine maintenance on both mobile and stationary equipment, including cutting and welding tasks under the supervision of the plant manager or designated personnel.
  • Performs daily inspections before and after shifts on equipment and maintains a detailed maintenance log.
  • Utilizes hand tools and operates machinery such as skid steers and front-end loaders to maintain cleanliness around plant equipment and to keep roadways and parking areas clear.
  • Operates a water truck to minimize airborne dust.
  • Engages in plant operations, including production, loading, shipping, and quality assurance.
  • Ensures proper housekeeping in assigned areas and maintains safe traffic flow throughout the facility.
  • Safely operates plant-specific mobile machinery, including excavators and haul trucks, as required.
  • Assists in training fellow employees as necessary.
  • Completes additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Must exhibit a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and motivation.
  • Willingness to actively participate in plant safety initiatives.
  • Availability to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Openness to cross-training in various production areas.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience relevant to the responsibilities of this role.
  • Preferred experience in the building materials sector.
Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members towards common objectives, contributing positively to team dynamics.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and perform duties with minimal oversight.
  • Able to work varying shifts outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with MSHA guidelines and plant safety protocols.
  • Commitment to ensuring a safe work environment by prioritizing safety, followed by quality and production.
