Job Title: IT Advanced Project Manager

At the State of Minnesota, we are committed to delivering high-quality services to our citizens. As an IT Advanced Project Manager, you will play a critical role in leading the development, enhancement, or retirement of complex information technology and business area solutions, systems, processes, and services delivered on a statewide basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the project management lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure.
  • Oversee the migration of multiple Commerce applications from MS Access to off-the-shelf products or custom development.
  • Ensure quality and consistency across multiple projects in the use of project planning, scheduling, scope, and risk management.
  • Deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
  • Provide customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in performing IT project management functions.
  • Experience reporting on project activities during all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Experience managing all aspects of the design, development, and implementation of IT projects.
  • A master's degree in Information Technology or an IT-related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT-related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT-related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working as a scrum master with Agile methodology, scrum ceremonies, and Kanban.
  • Experience with Product Management and interfacing with a Product Owner doing Product development.
  • Ability to facilitate group discussions that drive decision-making.
  • Knowledge of basic business analysis practices and tools.
  • Experience in database management and Access database modernization as well as IT procurement and vendor management.

  • Pass all legally required checks prior to employment, including SEMA4 Records Check, Criminal History Check, Reference Check, Social Security and Address Verification, Education Verification, and other legally required checks.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
