Job Summary

The Child Development Specialist - Part-Time position at St. Vincent De Paul Village is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children. As a key member of our team, you will provide classroom oversight and instruction to children of all ages, ensuring their health and safety while promoting their growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children of all ages, ensuring their health and safety, and providing age-appropriate activities.
  • Evaluate children's development and growth, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to enhance their progress.
  • Develop and implement weekly lesson plans that promote children's growth and resiliency, aligning with our organization's mission and values.
  • Complete monthly assessments on individual children, providing valuable insights for our team.
  • Update reports and data in our database, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 12 units of child development coursework, including child growth and development, family/child and community, infant/toddler development, and curriculum courses.
  • One year of experience as a teacher in a licensed childcare center.
  • First Aid & CPR-Pediatric certification.
  • Basic user of MS Office.
  • Ability to pass fingerprinting and background check upon employment.
  • Be at least 21 years of age, have a valid in-state driver's license, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years.
  • Annual Tuberculosis screening and/or other screenings when necessary.
