Position Overview:
Our client, a family-owned and operated business, is seeking an experienced Receivables Operations Supervisor to lead their Accounts Receivable team. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity within a vibrant organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Accounts Receivable department and manage daily operations for a team of six professionals.
- Develop and implement work procedures that align with organizational standards and strategic goals.
- Facilitate the performance management process, including goal setting, performance monitoring, feedback provision, coaching, and recognition of team members.
- Ensure accurate cash applications for all receipts.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies related to unposted checks or ACH transactions.
- Prepare and present monthly reports on A/R Balances, > 90 Day Summary, A/R Turnover, DSO, and Customer Repayments to senior management.
- Compile monthly reports on Logistics and Freight Claims for review with key stakeholders.
- Conduct monthly meetings with A/R Specialists to discuss their A/R Trial Balance Report totals.
- Review assigned accounts on a weekly basis to address outstanding items.
- Maintain effective communication with Customers, Brokers, and Sales teams, addressing inquiries and issues professionally and promptly.
- Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
- Support staff in collaboration with Brokers, Customers, and Sales to ensure timely receipt of documentation for deductions.
- Authorize Credit Memo Request Forms submitted by A/R Specialists to accurately expense and clear approved items from the A/R Trial Balance.
- Review and approve timecards to verify hours worked.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable and Collections, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and presentation abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Positive attitude, approachable demeanor, and a collaborative team spirit.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in the CPC, Retail, or Manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
