The EHS Specialist plays a critical role in supporting operations and fostering a culture of zero injuries and ensuring compliance at Southwire Company, LLC. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing environmental, health, and safety activities at the facility.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Risk Assessments: Conduct thorough risk assessments related to jobs performed by team members and suggest risk mitigation strategies through programs such as Job Safety Analysis, ergonomics process, machine safeguarding, etc.
- Training and Compliance: Facilitate and track training in relation to OSHA, EPA, EH&S policies, practices, and procedures, including orientations and monthly trainings.
- Metric Tracking: Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate-based reporting systems.
- Compliance Assurance: Support all mandatory air, water, and waste compliance assurance-monitoring activities at the facility.
- Program Implementation: Support the implementation of new EH&S programs.
- Investigation and Corrective Action: Execute action items from safety investigations to drive closure of effective corrective/preventative actions as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in EHS or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience working in an EHS role or related field.
- Certification: OSHA Certification, preferred.
