Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Engineer 1 to join our team at the New York State Thruway Authority. As a key member of our Engineering Services team, you will be responsible for directing, supervising, and administering the construction of various highway, bridge, and architectural projects within our division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise the construction of highway, bridge, and architectural projects
  • Administer project plans, proposals, and recommendations
  • Review and comment on State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR) submittals
  • Provide monthly updates to the capital plan letting schedule
  • Participate in inter-agency capital planning meetings
  • Manage development of the NYSTA multi-year highway and bridge capital program
  • Monitor capital construction encumbrances, contract lettings, and expenditures
  • Provide technical and policy guidance to division staff
  • Identify project-related cost, schedule, and funding source changes
  • Develop systems, methods, and techniques for management and evaluation of capital programs and projects
Requirements
  • Current New York State Professional Engineer's license and current registration
  • Qualifying bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
  • One year of full-time qualifying engineering experience
