About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Reliability Engineer to join our team at Takeda Pharmaceutical. As a key member of our Reliability Engineering group, you will play a critical role in improving the reliability of our equipment, utilities, and critical systems.

As a Senior Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing reliability-driven actions that require independent and collaborative judgment. You will work closely with our engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance teams to identify and address reliability issues, and develop strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing maintenance strategies, plans, SOPs, parts lists, BOMs, and frequencies for new and modified equipment.
  • Performing reviews, improvements, and updates of maintenance SOPs, parts lists, BOMs, and CMMS data integrity for existing equipment.
  • Conducting data analysis of corrective work orders in CMMS and Quality Event Metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Improving CMMS data reliability and integrity.
  • Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance personnel to perform or support troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) methodologies to improve equipment reliability.
  • Measuring reliability performance and demonstrating success of improvements.
  • Improving equipment parts lists and BOMs accuracy in collaboration with MRO.
  • Performing functional equivalency assessments of spare parts.
  • Leading Reliability Centered Maintenance Improvement (RCM) or other improvement projects in multiple areas.
  • Participating and providing support for audits.
  • Leading the implementation of predictive maintenance across the facility.
  • Developing business cases for improvements requiring investments and participating in capital planning for assigned areas.
  • Leading, and providing subject matter expertise in the design review and selection of new equipment and measuring reliability performance and demonstrating success of improvements.
  • Overseeing junior staff.
  • Supporting internal Manufacturing, Facilities, Engineering, Validation, Quality, and Reliability customers.
  • Working with external equipment and parts suppliers for technical information.
What You Bring to Takeda:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Reliability Engineer who possesses a strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of CMMS and engineering & maintenance business practices, as well as knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and/or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Experience with process improvement and reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools such as PDCA, LEAN, Six Sigma / DMAIC, FMEA would be ideal.

The candidate will also have a strong understanding of laboratory and pharmaceutical process support equipment, including CIP, SIP, Autoclaves, and Glass Washers. Knowledge of the core engineering principles of heat transfer, mass transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics would be ideal.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and team player, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. They will also have the ability to travel and work across all MA Bio Ops facilities.

Important Considerations:

As a Senior Reliability Engineer at Takeda Pharmaceutical, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering quality products to our patients. You may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily, and you will be expected to follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure the quality of our products.

The successful candidate will be able to work in a controlled or clean room environment, and they will be expected to follow all safety protocols and procedures. They will also be required to lift, push, pull up to 25 pounds, and work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
