CMM Programming Specialist

The primary objective of this role is to enhance the department's capability to meet its strategic goals. This encompasses executing CMM programming functions to support ongoing machining operations and the development of new products. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, validate, and troubleshoot Cartesian measuring machine programs while ensuring comprehensive documentation for CMM machinery.
- Engage with various stakeholders, including supervisors, engineers, and skilled trades, to fulfill customer and shop floor requirements.
- Contribute to the advancement and optimization of measurement systems and programming efficiency in designated areas.
- Advise on and implement programming best practices as directed, aiming to enhance measurement systems within the manufacturing framework.
- Support and promote continuous improvement of lean measurement systems through effective programming and up-to-date measurement methodologies.
- Design suitable work holdings for part inspections.
- Diagnose and resolve machine-related issues and challenges in the measurement process.
- Provide training to manufacturing and quality teams on CMM operations.
- Assist in the measurement development for new product designs and the ongoing enhancement of existing components.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency with CALYPSO software.
- This position involves working in both laboratory and shop floor settings.
- Ability to navigate the plant and interact with associates in their work areas.
- Successful completion of scheduled eye examinations as per company procedures.
- Completion of a medical examination and drug screening is mandatory prior to employment.
- Preferred: Associate Degree in a manufacturing technology discipline or equivalent professional training and experience.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in essential duties.
- Specific knowledge in CAD, CMM, Calypso, and Pro E.
- Ability to utilize standard measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), as well as optical comparators.
- Familiarity with machine, tool, fixture, work-holding, and die design principles.
- Strong understanding of blueprint interpretation, GD&T, setup, tooling, and fixture techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Eligibility to handle sensitive controlled data and materials in compliance with ITAR regulations.
