Position Overview

Boulder Imaging Inc is on the lookout for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer with a robust background in transitioning new products into production and enhancing the efficiency of current manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative and teamwork to ensure production goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with design engineers to assess and refine designs for assembly and maintenance.
  • Establish design standards for optimal assembly techniques and system configurations.
  • Work alongside engineering teams to identify critical inspection points for components and final products.
  • Create assembly documentation, including detailed drawings, assembly guidelines, and inspection protocols.
  • Provide training on assembly documentation and best manufacturing practices.
  • Assist in developing service documentation for accurate field part replacements.
  • Design and construct assembly fixtures as required, including automated calibration systems.
  • Formulate preferred manufacturing workflows for low to medium volume assemblies.
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure the quality of components and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues for successful product launches.
  • Address issues related to assemblies or components on the production floor.
  • Coordinate with the production team to establish schedules and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct process mapping and value stream analysis to measure and enhance manufacturing workflows.
  • Act as the primary technical support for manufacturing-related challenges.
  • Support first article inspections and qualifications.
  • Assist in vendor evaluations and performance assessments.
  • Conduct corrective action reports and lead standard operating procedure improvements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interpret schematics and single-line diagrams.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience in Design for Assembly and Design for Service evaluations.
  • Capability to develop and implement assembly documentation effectively.
  • History of leading continuous improvement initiatives in assembly processes and manufacturing testing.
  • Experience in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in designing fixtures for system-level assemblies.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of FMEA/PFMEA processes is advantageous.
  • Experience with milling and power tools is a plus.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing process development, particularly in the assembly of customized electromechanical systems.
