Job Summary:

Graphic Packaging International is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Specialist to join our team in the Research & Development facility in Louisville, CO. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, converting, and installing machines and processes related to new business objectives, manufacturing processes, and raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, fabricate, convert, maintain, operate, and train others on the installation and use of package converting equipment.
  • Manage the machinery/mechanical aspects of R&D projects.
  • Work independently and travel to GPI manufacturing locations to install and/or troubleshoot package manufacturing machinery.
  • Travel to GPI customer's facilities and assist with the installation, start-up, and trouble-shooting of packaging converting equipment.
  • Write reports/recommendations on projects and communicate regularly with machine vendors, GPI plant management, GPI customers, and business development personnel.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage manufacturing trials evaluating new raw materials and converting processes.
  • Facilitate process-related projects and programs in support of Corporate R&D.
  • Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of R&D pilot line converting equipment.

Requirements:

  • Basic fabrication experience, working with various metals & plastics.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical failures.
  • High level of motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience fabricating, operating, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience operating printing presses, laminators, die cutters/sheeters, folder/gluers, powered industrial vehicles, preferred.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively on and around large manufacturing equipment and in a chemical environment.
