The Clinical Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing, coordinating, and evaluating the daily functions within the APU and Endoscopy departments while leading the unit-based team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess, evaluate, and modify current and future staffing based on patient care requirements.
- Delegate responsibilities for patient care to the unit-based team.
- Maintain departmental documentation for administrative and compliance purposes.
- Facilitate educational initiatives for staff (e.g., orientation, competency assessments, skill evaluations, mandatory training).
- Contribute to the annual performance evaluations of assigned personnel.
- Engage in the recruitment and counseling of staff members.
- Address customer service issues and manage complaints from patients, families, staff, or physicians.
- Assist with management functions within the unit.
- Oversee daily operations while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Conduct thorough, systematic assessments of all assigned patients.
- Develop collaborative care plans and identify anticipated patient outcomes.
- Implement, assess, and document patient care interventions and their effectiveness in line with the care plan.
- Organize, coordinate, and prioritize patient care while effectively utilizing available resources.
- Exhibit proficiency in assessment, treatment options, knowledge of growth and development, and communication tailored to the age of the patient.
- Actively participate in unit-based performance improvement initiatives and committees, as appropriate.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit for up to 2 hours daily; stand for up to 8 hours daily; and walk for up to 6 hours daily. Must be capable of lifting, carrying, and pushing objects weighing up to 10 pounds consistently, and up to 75 pounds frequently. Transport patients weighing up to 250 lbs. with assistance when necessary. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder level are required. Must possess the ability to perceive object attributes through touch and communicate effectively.
EDUCATION:
Registered Nurse with a current license to practice in the relevant state.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two to five years of nursing experience in the relevant specialty. Proof of successful completion of BLS is required.
