Position Overview

The Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture within the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M Health is seeking applications for multiple part-time or full-time visiting lecturer roles. Full-time appointments will span a 9-month period, while part-time roles will be for 4 months. Appointments for visiting lecturers are typically limited to semester terms, but with satisfactory evaluations, there is potential for renewal. The number of courses available will depend on departmental requirements at the time.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities associated with this position include:

  • Teaching undergraduate courses as required in the relevant subject area.
  • Engaging in minimal service activities within the department.

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative educator to contribute to our vibrant faculty and to excel as an instructor in one or more areas of teaching within the department.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree relevant to the teaching field and substantial teaching experience at the college or school level, or a distinguished record of achievement in a practical setting.
  • Experience in teaching within pre-K to 12 educational environments as relevant to the program areas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate in education or a related discipline, with expertise in one of the program areas offered by the department, such as multicultural or urban education.
  • Experience in multicultural and urban education instruction within teacher education, curriculum and instruction, or specific content areas.
  • Proven experience in college or university teaching.
  • Ability to employ innovative, project-based, and interactive learning methodologies.
  • Evidence of effective teaching across various educational levels.
  • Experience in implementing evidence-based practices in content-area instruction.
  • Proficiency in integrating new technologies and evidence-based interventions into teaching.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Active engagement in service activities within an academic department.
