General Overview:

Senior IT Systems Engineers are tasked with the oversight, installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of technology solutions. They provide technical support, resolve issues, and engage in scripting/programming to ensure the stability and efficiency of technology solutions. These engineers lead initiatives, supervise project outcomes, offer training, and serve as a technical resource for other Systems Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, monitoring, testing, configuration, migration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned technologies
  • Management of system/application environments and ongoing operations
  • Ensuring technologies are up-to-date with stable and compliant architecture
  • Researching, designing, implementing, and testing technology solutions
  • Proactively monitoring and reporting on performance and utilization
  • Troubleshooting software and hardware issues
  • Managing escalated tickets and tasks
  • Collecting and presenting data for reporting and planning
  • Assisting in the development of strategies, processes, and procedures related to systems/application administration
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex technology/application errors
  • Collaborating with IT and business partners on initiatives
  • Providing input into infrastructure architecture designs
  • Writing programming/scripting as needed
  • Participating in Disaster Recovery planning and exercises
  • Ensuring alignment with architectural standards
  • Performing on-call activities as required

Required Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of multiple technologies and their integrations
  • Experience in environments highly integrated with operating systems
  • Proven track record in implementing and managing technical solutions in large-scale systems
  • Strong critical thinking skills for evaluating alternatives and presenting solutions
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership
  • Capacity to learn from feedback and improve performance
  • Clear communication of technical information
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing environments
  • Experience in analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
