Job Summary

The Artistic Director is responsible for conceiving and implementing the artistic vision and focus of West T. Hill Community Theatre, while effectively managing finances and resources to achieve a balance of artistic quality, financial strength, and institutional integrity.

This role requires a strong commitment to the theatre's mission and a collaborative approach to working with the Board of Directors to achieve business strategies and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the annual season of productions, including play selection, scheduling, and production management
  • Partner with the Board of Directors to achieve the theatre's mission and business strategies
  • Present the public face of the theatre, including attending community events and promoting awareness of the theatre's mission and programs
  • Recruit and manage qualified directors for each show, and provide support and guidance as needed
  • Supervise the completion of administrative and clerical tasks, including royalty agreements and payments, script and music ordering, and theatre maintenance
  • Continuously develop personal skills in technical aspects of theatre production

With over 40 seasons of experience, the theatre has established itself as a vital part of the community, providing a unique and intimate 111-seat theatre space for productions and events.
