Artistic Director

West T. Hill Community Theatre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Artistic Director to lead our team in producing high-quality theatrical entertainment for the Danville and surrounding region. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceiving, developing, and implementing the artistic vision and focus of the theatre, while managing finances and resources effectively.
The Artistic Director will work closely with the Board of Directors to achieve the theatre's mission and business strategies, creating and supporting the implementation of the annual season of productions, fundraising activities, special events, and grant opportunities. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, as well as a passion for the arts and a commitment to community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceive, develop, and implement the artistic vision and focus of the theatre
- Manage finances and resources effectively to achieve the theatre's mission and business strategies
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to achieve the theatre's mission and business strategies
- Develop and implement the annual season of productions, including play and musical royalty agreements and payments
- Supervise the accurate and timely completion of necessary administrative and clerical tasks
- Ensure that play and musical royalty agreements and payments for each planned production are completed and scripts and music scores are ordered for each production in advance of auditions being conducted
Requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Passion for the arts and a commitment to community engagement
- Experience in theatre production and management
- Ability to work effectively with a Board of Directors and other stakeholders
- Strong financial management skills
