We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Service Representative to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our Patient Accounting Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients, resolving inquiries, and ensuring timely resolution of billing issues.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Handle a minimum of 250 inbound Automated Call Distribution (ACD) calls per week, providing patients with timely resolution of questions and resolving calls with minimal outside direction.
- Account Resolution: Review insurers' payment to explanation of benefits to determine patients' responsibility, and perform comparison to managed care contract for accuracy.
- Financial Screening: Perform partial financial screening for uninsured or minimally insured patients to determine the next phase of customer care.
- Payment Plans: Provide financing solutions for patients, including developing and implementing payment plan options.
- Communication: Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care that is specific to those needs, communicating with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers at their level.
- Education: High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service.
- Skills: Exceptional customer care skills, including active listening, compassion, written and verbal communication skills, and a professional phone voice.
- Education: Associate's degree or two years of college from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: In-depth knowledge of the revenue cycle, including third-party follow-up, reconciliation, billing, and other key areas of patient financial services.
