First Western Bank & Trust is seeking a skilled Credit Analyst to join our team. As a Credit Analyst, you will play a critical role in analyzing financial statements and credit data to determine the risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial statements and credit data to determine the risk involved in extending credit
- Verify and input financial data within appropriate banking software
- Prepare financial spreads utilized in credit presentation
- Evaluate customer earnings, savings data, payment history, and purchase activity
- Generate debt to income ratios to assess customers' financial status
- Analyze income growth, asset management, and market share to determine expected profitability of loans
- Compare profit and liability history of commercial or agriculture entity being evaluated
- Review customer file documentation and write narrative analysis of risk factors
- Work with commercial and agriculture lenders to ensure parameters of the Bank's loan policy are met
- Determine exposure limits and assign risk ratings for Automated Clearing House customers
- Monitor various loans and provide monthly status reports
- Compile financial spreads and query reports as requested for annual loan reviews, vendor analysis
- Complete summaries of loan requests to submit appropriate approval level authority, loan committee
- Maintain knowledge of risk management techniques
- Attend training and complete software webinars to enhance knowledge
- Ensure compliance with banking laws, regulations, and the Bank's policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy Act
- Maintain continuing education related to regulatory standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business-related field or equivalent work experience
- Two years' experience in banking, credit or analyst role preferred
- Knowledge of financial statements required
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to define problems, facts and draw valid conclusions
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate adaptability while effectively meeting assigned deadlines
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related banking programs; SageWorks and Moody's Analytics
