We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Circulating Staff Nurse in Surgical Services. This is a full-time position with a 10-hour night shift schedule.
Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process as a problem-solving model to anticipate and plan patient and family needs.
- Conduct focused nursing assessments to target areas most productive for a given patient population or situation.
- Apply current literature and research findings to make sound clinical decisions and prioritize patient care.
- Develop and maintain a therapeutic nurse/patient relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.
- Communicate effectively using the SBAR method in all hand-off situations.
- Document patient care, including assessment, interdisciplinary plan of care, implementation, evaluation, and the Watson Model of Care.
- Anticipate variables affecting patient comfort and alter physical and psychosocial interventions accordingly.
- Work collaboratively with Care Managers to coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning.
- Review orders and communicate changes in patient condition with physicians and other team members.
- Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing preferred.
- Associates in nursing required.
- Minimum of one to two years of clinical nursing experience in Surgical Services nursing.
- Current California Nursing license.
- Basic computer skills and Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.
