We are seeking a skilled and experienced Circulating Staff Nurse to join our team at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital. As a key member of our Perioperative Nursing department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to anticipate and plan patient care, ensuring individualized attention and a patient-centered approach.
- Conduct thorough nursing assessments, recognizing subtle changes in clinical situations and adjusting care plans accordingly.
- Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families, respecting their rights and promoting a sense of control and empowerment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, utilizing the SBAR method in all hand-off situations.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly, adhering to unit-specific and hospital documentation policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Care Managers to coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning and ensure seamless transitions of care.
- Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of unit-specific plans.
- Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing preferred; Associate in nursing required.
- Minimum of one to two years of clinical nursing experience in Surgical Services nursing, with current California Nursing license and CNOR certification preferred.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred, with basic computer skills and current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
