The Opportunity

We're looking for a candidate with patience, who is non-judgmental and able to connect with kids that have behavioral challenges. As a Behavior Intervention Support Specialist, you'll provide individual and small group behavior support in and out of the classroom setting, working closely with teachers, colleagues, and families.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain high expectations for all students and a deep belief that all students can learn.
  • Assist teachers with implementing IEP plans, providing positive learning experiences, and monitoring student progress.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce materials and/or skills introduced by teaching staff.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans, monitoring and documenting student progress, and making necessary modifications.
  • Act as a liaison between assigned students, teachers, and parents, communicating effectively about academic progress and behavioral development.
  • Ensure students' well-being and safety in the school environment and assist in managing crisis situations, as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate degree preferred.
  • Certification in behavior intervention and support strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Demonstrates an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude towards students of various age groups, temperaments, and abilities.
  • Exhibit ability to handle confidential information and materials.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators.

Estimated Salary Range:

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
