Job Overview:

Nuclear Medicine Technologists play a vital role in providing diagnostic medical imaging procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and medical imaging equipment. As a Radiopharmaceutical Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and performing diagnostic medical imaging procedures to provide the physician with diagnostic images to identify and/or plan appropriate treatment for the patient's condition.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Radiopharmaceutical Imaging Specialist to join our team at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos. With over 700 Associates and more than 300 active and consulting physicians, we strive to provide quality services to patients and their families.

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos has been serving Hays County since 1923. Our hospital offers a wide range of services, including interventional cardiac services, Certified Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery, and various specialty care services such as medical imaging, rehabilitation, hospice, women's services, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Adhere to standards for radiation safety and waste separation and disposal of radioactive agents by performing specific tasks mandated by Federal, State, and Hospital policies.
  • Document daily calibrations and flood films for all Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment, Dose Calibrator accuracy check, Hot Lab area survey, dispensed pharmaceuticals, and radioactive source disposal.
  • Practice safe handling of radio nuclides and radiation safety procedures at all times.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, as prescribed by the Physician, by adhering to established procedures.
  • Perform periodic quality control tests, documenting according to Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Health.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting required.
  • 2 years of experience in a clinical Radiology setting is preferred.
  • Current State Licensure required.
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist registration from ARRT or NMTCB required.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
